Serious assault police, Carseldine

Police have charged a man following an assault incident at Carseldine this afternoon.
At about 1.30pm, officers attended a service station on Gympie Road in relation to man allegedly causing a disturbance.
When police approached the man, it is alleged the man punched an officer in the face and punched and kicked the second officer.
After a brief struggle the man was arrested.
It is alleged whilst searching the man, police located a large machete hidden in the man’s pants.
Both officers received bruising as a result of the incident.
The 29-year-old Caboolture man is charged with two counts of serious assault police and one count each of public nuisance and possess knife in a public place.
The man will appear in the Sandgate Magistrates Court on September 14.

Update – Wounding, South Brisbane

Detectives investigating the stabbing and robbery of a security guard at a school in South Brisbane this morning have released the identity of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
Khia Gribben, 25, was last seen at a bus stop located outside Lutwyche City shopping centre on Gympie Road just after 6am.
Police wish to speak with him in relation to the wounding incident where a male security guard was approached by another man at a school on Graham Street around 5.25am.
The 51-year-old security guard was stabbed multiple times and had property stolen. He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently in a stable condition.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen Khia Gribben or know his whereabouts to call Triple Zero. Member of the public are advised not to approach him.

Suspicious house fire, Strathpine

Police are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious fire which destroyed a house at Strathpine this morning.
Emergency services were called to an address on Bells Pocket Road around 4.15am to find a vacant home well alight.
Police closed the intersection of Lawnton Pocket Road and Bells Pocket Road while fire fighters brought the blaze under control.
The house, which was listed for sale, was completely destroyed.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time who may have seen anything suspicious to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
Investigations are continuing.

Serious assault, Stafford

Police have charged a man following a disturbance in Stafford last night.
At 9:35pm, officers attended a residence on Webster Road where they located an injured woman.
It will be alleged that upon entering the front of the home, a man has tried to stop police by kicking a male Constable in the chest and throat.
It will be further alleged, after attempting to barricade himself inside of the house, the man became aggressive towards the officers as they tried to take him into custody.
The woman and the officer received treatment to minor injuries at the scene.
A 27-year-old Stafford man has been charged with several offences including two counts each of serious assault police, one count of deprivation of liberty and one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
