Skygate Adds New Driving Attraction to Its Entertainment Line-Up

A new multi-level electric go-kart raceway will anchor a 3,600-square-metre entertainment complex at Skygate, bringing racing, bowling, arcade games and other attractions to the Brisbane Airport precinct.

Game Over plans to open the purpose-built venue in 2027, with an eight-lane ten-pin bowling alley, interactive attractions, food and beverage facilities and dedicated spaces for parties, corporate events and group functions. The go-kart circuit, described by Brisbane Airport as Queensland’s largest electric track, will cater for guests from four years old.

From The Starting Grid To The Bowling Lanes

The multi-level track will operate with a large fleet of electric karts and cater for guests from four years old. This puts racing at the centre of the new venue.

Beyond the circuit, plans include an eight-lane ten-pin bowling alley, arcade games and a range of interactive attractions. Dedicated areas for birthday parties, corporate events and group functions will also be built into the complex, alongside a food and beverage precinct.

Game Over is already established elsewhere in Queensland, with venues at Oxley, North Lakes and the Gold Coast, as well as locations in Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown. Its existing Oxley venue combines electric go-karting with laser tag, mini golf, arcade games and indoor play facilities.

Skygate’s Leisure Line-Up Keeps Growing

The arrival of Game Over will add another large indoor attraction to Skygate, where retail is increasingly sharing space with recreation and entertainment. Dinos Alive, Area 51, Golf Central and Landers Pocket are among the attractions operating or announced for the precinct.

DFO Brisbane and Queensland’s only 24-hour Woolworths remain part of Skygate’s established retail mix. The precinct also offers free parking and access to major arterial roads.

Brisbane Airport Executive General Manager Commercial Scott Norris said Game Over would add another reason for people to spend more time at Skygate as the precinct continues to move beyond its earlier retail focus. Game Over General Manager Brad Ward said the Skygate venue would bring racing, bowling, arcade games and interactive attractions together under one roof, expanding the company’s Queensland presence.

The project has been announced during Brisbane Airport’s wider $5 billion Future BNE transformation. Game Over is scheduled to open at Skygate in 2027, with a more specific opening date yet to be provided.
